Continuity

Found a way how to create continuous sine sequence in SC!

Also for now I think the best option to create many Pdefs is through a function with variable name and control channel as arguments, so i don't need to write the whole Pdef still over again.

I attached a contact mic to the mixer, so it listens to the movement of faders. It is really cool to send this channel to the feedback loop auxes. It makes so much great noise.

Question: How do you store functions in SC and call them with different values as different instances?

Nice bass sounds with left and right. Remember to set up the midi in Yamaha to be able to control parameters.

Found out the battery to store settings in the mixer is low. No settings are saved when you turn it off. Have not settup too many things yet but I would like to. Found a way to bulk dum all settings (hopefully also the aux send volumes and eq settings) to my mac thanks to SysexLibrarian. Jupí! Also feels like it should be possible to automate the eq with midi! Just needs to be set up in the mixer to map the messages to it. Feel like a hacker already.

The battery I needed was just lying on my working desk. Coincidence?

Could not find a way how to get the bulk dump back to the device from my computer. At least now I can save directly in the machine.

Just found out I am working with updated 02R to V2, which enables Control Change messages. Maybe it is gonna get much easier to control it from my computer. Hope the fun hacker part does not disappear though.

So today is the day when the fader moved for the first time again. Now I can use cc messages instead of sysex, which makes it a lot easier to control the device (hence its name I suppose). Simply put: m.control(chan:0, ctlNum:7, val:30);

Now I got so much into live tweaking of the mixer that I have a desire to continue without the computer. But seems like a good balance to all the endorphines. And also seems important to explore the thing by itself first before programming it.

It is interesting how the feedback changes when you move the faders quick and slow, there are very subtle spots you can find just by moving something a tiny bit. It is quite fluid and uncontrolable, or random let's say, but at the same time it requires lot of sensitivity to do the subtle movements, listen and observe and react to it.

Made very fast changes of fader volumes with SC. The fader were running for their lives. But turned out I can also flip the faders, so at the moment none of them move, but the proccess of volume change is still happening.

Reached the limit of the machine propably. Was sending midi messages too fast and then some other things started to move as well. And sound stopped. I guess I will continue tomorrow. (At some point when the faders were moving too fast I could smell something bit burning, so gotta be careful with that)

dneska se hezky poskládaly moje pokusy s no input mixingem a učení se v Supercollideru. Podařilo se mi ovládat fadery mixážního pultu Yamaha 02R z 90. let z mého počítače, díky stálé kompatibilitě MIDI a díky Supercolliderovým možnostem.

Další krok bude zkusit ovládat ekvalizér, i když by taky uplně stačilo naladit jednotlivý kanály a pak ovládat jejich hlasitosti, stoupání, klesání, rychle, pomalu, rozložené akordy, vyšší harmonické tóny...
